Holy Crap I did not expect this |
| First Review DBZ Cavallo AB For a guitar to be made overseas for a US company to expect the standards that they set for their USA counterparts a few things have to come into play. First and foremost, wood is an issue. Once we get past that, a few more hurdles need to be passed. The wood on the Cavallo is as follows, Solid Mahogany body with a 3/4 Inch expertly sculpted solid maple top for tone. Matched to this are a laminated 3 piece mahogany V shaped neck and a dark quarter sawn rosewood fingerboard. Finished in black this guitar is menacing and the body outlined in abalone adds to that look. 22 Jumbo nickel silver frets are crowned and fitted to the fingerboard and dressed. To compare this guitar to the Bird of Prey and Venom can be done because they are two completely different instruments. Not just by scale and feel but buy an idea from the start. The Cavallo was designed to feel like it was 30 years old but 30 years ahead of its time. The feel of it is classic, the weight is perfect for sustain and tone but the full package is the result is current technology brought out in it's purist form. A Flying V should do what it's designed to do...fly And fly it does. The pickups are DBZ's own design and are full range sounding, '59 style and comes with a coil tap on the master tone control. Abalone binding surrounds the top of the body and is seated next to a thick black outer binding. Chrome plated parts and Grover tuners complete this package. The sound is full and biting with great overtones and very good sustain to boot. Playability is smooth and effortless with barely any fret buzz even with a low set action for great playability. Strings mount through the body through the classic V shaped tail piece for great sustain. All in all the DBZ Cavallo Impressed me so much that I'm giving it a 5 star rating No just because we sell it but because it is a fantastic instrument ***** |
